Derailment of the Peace Express

The strike has happened. This time the terrorists have targetted the most physical symbol of the India-Pakistan peace process. Explosions rocked the Samjhautha express, a bi-weekly train between Delhi and Lahore, killing 68 people and injuring more than 100. This time majority of the victims are Pakistani, but leaving aside this fact, the point is that Terrorists are determined to ensire that the peace process stagnates between India and Pakistan, and thus nullifying the peace process between the two countries.

Time and time again the terrorists have made several attempts to disrupt the peace process between the two countries. Their activities have increased post 9/11 as well as with the resumption of the peace process in 2004. The time has now come when Pakistan realizes that it too is a victim of their creation. The terrorists which were created with the false impression of trying to liberate Kashmir has now turned against them, and threatens their stability. The suicide Bomb explosion in Quetta 2 days ago as well other terror attacks in Karachi have been a constant reminder that Pakistan is also suffering from this backlash of terror.

The attacks on the Samjhautha express show the need for the Extermination of Terrorists as well as the other elements which sustain their existance. The solution to the Kashmir crisis is now simple. One or if acceptable both nations take actions leading to the end of the terrorists, then half of the Kashmir crisis is solved. Only then through active and complete participation in dialogue of all parties shall he fate of Kashmiris be realized. The main question now will be wether these nations can take action against the terror elements.

Will India finally be active on the terror front, now that two potentially deadly blasts have shaken up India? The 7/11 Train Bombings of Mumbai, the Malegaon attcks and now the Samjhautha express attack are an indication that terror elemnts want to destabilize India. If India does not take up an active role in elminating terror, then Terrorism will thrive, and will in the end destabilize the country.
